Oklahoma Bald Eagles

Really enjoying watching the migratory Bald eagles in Oklahoma this winter at the Sutton Avian Research Center  via their webcams http://www.suttoncenter.org/pages/live_eagle_camera which is live 24/7! The top or "Sequoyah" pair are the Daddy, "Okie" and the Mommy is "Cher" and they have laid 3 eggs in December of 2011 and the bottom 2 cameras are on Sooner Lake also in oklahoma and their names are "Fred"(male) & "Ethel"(female). Fred and Ethel have been seen mating off and on , all this week (January 2012) & are finally beginning to work on their nest that is in camera view over the waters of Sooner Lake..its been said that they actually have *3* nests in the area so its been the talk of the viewers of which nest they are going to settle in , when and if they lay eggs, but its definitely looking like they have chosen the water nest as the place to have their babies :) I admit to becoming "addicted" to watching this every single day, for hours on end, every day for weeks now..its almost like a tv show or soap opera! We also in recent days, have seen "intruders" to both nests...young juvenile bald eagles have shown up this past week, coming to both nests and having to be chased off by the nesting pairs. It is incredible what good parents and partners bald eagles are. I have SO much respect for them all as ive watched and learned just how dedicated they are to each other and to the hatching and raising of their eaglets. They are sitting on those eggs, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, changing out every few hours to let the other parent have a stretch, a meal, a flight and just a break as all new parents need! I hope that you , dear reader, will check this site out and follow the eagles as they mate(for life!) and lay their eggs, then watch over them as the best parents i have ever seen...its just incredible watching and i cant get enough of it! Heres hoping that all 3 of Okie & Cher's eggs hatch and they have 3 brand new eaglets soon! All the very best to our bald eagles and their young!!
