Butterflies this year have been awesome!! Just surrounded by so many of them & different too!
One of my first roses of the year and found a little ladybug on it :) Took most of these photos with my phone so some arent as good as they would be from my dslr :/
This is a Monarch Butterfly from this WINTER who stayed for quite a while way way after the winter migration to Mexico for some reason...it stayed around this blue salvia of mine for almost a week before leaving..hope it made it to Mexico!
Oklahoma sunset about a week ago , Oklahoma may not be my favorite place in the world but it does have beautiful, beautiful sunsets!!!!
A Mourning Cloak Butterfly near the garden hose!! I have no recall of ever seeing any of these in person in my life until this spring and we have had them everywhere and especially on the "Butterfly Bar" we made hehe but they are VERY shy, skittish and dont usually allow you to pick up or hold them like the Hackberry Emperors etc do.
View through the trees into the sky in my backyard, one day a week ago we had *3* different kinds of woodpeckers in that big tall tree...dunno if thats a good thing or not haha?
Buffalo down at Wichita Mountains National Refuge near Ft Sill/Lawton Oklahoma where the Buffalo roam free and wild and i of course, LOVE buffalo.... Got to see and take pics of BABY buffalo on Mother's Day down there this spring , was SO exciting, made me incredibly happy, as always to see them and get to be around them :)
Thoughts, feelings, pictures, recipes, whatever i can manage...who knows, maybe this will help me feel better! & give me some energy :)to be cont'd...

Mammaw's Mexican Cornbread Recipe YUMMMY!
aunt jemima buttermilk cornbread mix(the mix not just cornmeal, it should be a white and green bag) 2 cups
1 1/2 cups of buttermilk
2 eggs (preheat oven now to 375 for 20 minutes while you make the rest of it)
mix top 3 ingredients til good and wet and if it looks kinda dryish or crumbly, add little buttermilk at a time til it is *almost* runny
2-3 tablespoons of lard, crisco or vegetable oil(heat this in your cast iron skillet-large skillet!! if you dont have a cast iron skillet a 9 x 13 or bigger pan will work)-in the oven til its almost smoking hot
mix above ingredients except the oil, because after you mix ALL ingredients in together you will pour the hot oil into the wet mixture
then i add one can of drained mexicorn
diced VERY finely or chopped pickled jalapeno peppers(to taste, i dont know how spicy yall like stuff? so id start with maybe a teaspoon to 1 1/2 tsp of this)
a small onion diced up
2 cups of shredded velveeta cheese or shredded (finely) cheddar or a mix of both, up to you :)
now add all these last ingredients into the wet cornbread mix and stir in really good, then pour hot oil into mixture(be careful dont burn yourself!!!!)
then pour it all back into the skillet/s or an at least 9x12 baking dish and cook at 375 for at least 30-45 minutes (check with toothpick in center for doneness but the cheese will be melted)
til its golden brown on the top and then eat it up!! lol

Scattered Leaves-The Ghostkiller Movie
Scattered Leaves: The Legend of Ghostkiller (The Ghostkiller Trilogy)
This story is written by Lynny Prince and she has just announced today that you can get a FREE Kindle Edition on Amazon.com to read!! I am SO excited about this, as its part NONfiction, part fiction and its about the Dakota 38, the largest mass execution in US history on US soil. I, and my family are Dakota Mdewakanton Lower Sioux american indians/native americans and the Dakota "Sioux" uprising of 1862 is what this story is partly about and I cant wait to read it all the way through AND they are making it into a movie!! This story is SO close to my heart, I cant even begin to express it, as my family, my ancestors were there, starving and involved in this and the story needs to be told . You can follow "Ghostkiller Movie" on Facebook for more info https://www.facebook.com/ghostkillermovie and also you can follow Lynny Prince's picks for the cast of characters/actors for the movie on Pinterest .com http://pinterest.com/lynnyprince/my-actor-picks-for-the-ghostkiller-movie/ and i have to say i agree with ALL of her picks for the characters!! so...its been a while since i posted anything, have been incredibly busy, and incredibly tired. Have been chasing the now 3 year old all over the place as well as trying to keep her occupied and OUT of trouble and mischief(which is my VERY biggest challenge to date!) We have made a "butterfly bar" as I like to call it :) It is where all the butterflies saddle up to the saloon doors and on up to the "bar" for their morning drinks, and also where most of them now, sit ALL day long with their tongues(proboscus) stuck all the way down into the rotting bananas, peaches, applesauce, cantaloupe, and 100% fruit juices(do NOT use fruit *flavored* drinks please!! only 100% natural fruit!) and then we walk by the plate, that is and has been sitting in full hot sun all day everyday, the more rotten THE BETTER!! , they all flutter up and fly all around us and land on us...one day i had over 10 butterflies land on my body and clothes and hair and *sat there* for many minutes all at the exact same time! :) were just loving it AND we got a huge bonus...his or her name is "Wiggly"(because it wiggles a lot haha!) we had found a bright red and black horned and blue spots caterpillar munching its way through my electric blue salvias that have yet to bloom this year-they are getting ready though!- the leaves... and to our massive surprise i saw something dangling from what appeared to be a spider web of sorts and hanging under the salvia leaves...on closer inspection, we had found our very first butterfly chrysalis EVER!!!! YAY!!! we are so so excited and have set Wiggly up in a glass container in the house, to protect him/her at all times night and day until she or he is "born " and emerges as a butterfly *grins*... this ranks up there as one of the most significant moments of my life... anyhow, Wiggly will be a variegated fritillary butterfly when it emerges out of the chrysalis and it feels like waitng for the birth of my children or something like that..he is hanging upside down from a paper towel over glass that is cushioned all over the bottom and sides with cotton balls in case he/she falls *AGAIN*... (it kept wiggling so much that it did, in fact, fall several times before we got it situated so that its stable and hanging upside down from its tail like its supposed too.. is been close to a week so far since we found it had went into its chrysalis but it is doing well, as whenever i check on Wiggly at least once ever 30-mins to an hour or so, he/she will start wiggling around inside the C haha then settles back down :) So this leads me to Listia.com which is an online FREE auction place where you can sell your own things for "credits" and you can also bid the credits you have(they gave me 400 free credits when i joined/signed up the other night for it) on other peoples things they want to get rid of...so far i have seen mostly really cool stuff up for auction...-antiques, vintage, video games, even antique books that are almost 200 yrs old and NOT for money$$$ basically for these "credits" and i have bid on one already, the lawrence welk autographed book-lost it, its already gone to over 5000+ credits :( and i only have 402 but i also now am so far the high bidder on some seeds i *DESPERATELY NEED & want badly*!!! so i can have monarch butterflies come to the yard and lay eggs and have beautiful wildflowers in the yard too in the process.... So we shall see how things go, i really hope *fingers crossed* that i win the seeds LOL... 25/30 yrs ago i would have NEVER dreamed of me bidding on seeds of all things haha when i was growing up..... i smile at the thought, but of course i never dreamed of something called the internet either or computers :P WISH ME LUCK on the seeds auction yall, i need them!! :) If you would like to join LISTIA.COM please click on this link, itll help me get points for referrals! Thank you :) http://www.listia.com/signup/1577845
